Jacques T. Sausage draws faces. Long noses, heavy eyelids, hair with plans of its own – figures you would otherwise walk straight past.
With the “Festival des dépressifs et des misérables” he brings them out of the shadows, if only for a moment.
They are nameless grey figures, so lacking in energy that one barely notices them when they appear – and forgets them at once.
Only through the portrait does their image step out of its shadowy existence, allowing the viewer to be moved by it. Yet they remain nameless, distinguishable only by the number of the picture.
Materials used: paper, pencil, coloured pencil, chalk, acrylic, ink, red wine, ash, poster paint.
